Spanish Immersion
Community Information Meeting
Battle Creek Christian School is partnering with Add.a.lingua to host a Community Information Meeting about Spanish Immersion, Monday, May 21, at 7:00 P.M. at the Binda Performing Arts Center on the Kellogg Community College campus. We invite you to attend the meeting and share the experience with your audience.
A Spanish immersion program is a unique educational option that teaches native English-speaking children all their academic subjects in Spanish from preschool through fifth grade. By educating children in the Spanish language and the various cultures it encompasses we hope to better fulfill our mission to: “provide academically sound instruction to help students acquire the knowledge, skills, and values to fulfill their calling.” Learning another language and about other cultures not only challenges children intellectually, but also prepares them to become “bridge builders” in our community, equipped to cross linguistic and cultural boundaries .
We believe that implementing a Spanish immersion program will help create an environment of cooperative learning and understanding between cultures within the school, the community, and potentially the world. Immersion students will develop skills necessary for participation in the global economy.
We look forward to seeing you on May 21 at 7:00 P.M. Please contact me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Marc Daly, Administrator
